[Grades 5-8] Improvisational Theater and Creative Storytelling-$10/Registration Fee & $95/Monthly

Students discover the exciting world of Improvisational Theatre and Creative Storytelling through a dynamic, collaborative program that builds creativity, communication, and confidence. Designed for middle school students, this course introduces the foundational principles of improvisation while encouraging students to think creatively, solve problems, and work effectively as an ensemble.

Trained instructor, Ms. Michelle Alonzo, teaches through engaging theatre games, storytelling activities, character development, scene creation, and guided improvisation exercises. Students learn to think on their feet, listen actively, accept and build upon the ideas of others, and create compelling performances without a script. Students are introduced to the classic principles of improvisation while developing the discipline, teamwork, and adaptability that make successful performers.

Beyond the stage, improvisational theatre strengthens public speaking, communication, executive functioning, critical thinking, collaboration, and social-emotional skills. Students develop self-confidence, resilience, creativity, and leadership as they learn to embrace mistakes as opportunities for growth in a supportive and encouraging environment.

This inclusive class welcomes both typical and neurodiverse learners. Instruction is adapted to support diverse learning styles, ensuring every student can participate, contribute, and experience success while developing confidence and a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts.

No previous acting experience is required. Students of all experience levels are welcome.
